Overview
The San Andrés wrapper is Mexico's signature contribution to the cigar world and one of the most beloved dark wrappers anywhere. Grown in the volcanic San Andrés Valley of Veracruz, this leaf is almost always fermented into a rich maduro, prized for a deep natural sweetness and an unmistakable cocoa-and-earth character. If you have ever smoked a dark, chocolatey cigar that tasted a little more rustic and a little more sweet than the rest, there is a very good chance it was wrapped in San Andrés.
